Celebrating Five Years of Literary Aviatrix
Help celebrate our 5th anniversary and see what’s ahead for 2026...

Happy Fifth Anniversary!
Help celebrate five years of the Aviatrix Book Club and the Literary Aviatrix community. If this space has meant something to you—big or small—I’d be grateful for a short testimonial I can share throughout December. Email me at [email protected]. And if you’re active on social media, please join the celebration there as well by sharing the news this month.
I hope this year has brought you joy, growth, and connection. Mine has held a little of everything: unexpected adventures, painful losses, aspirations achieved, and goals postponed or reshaped. As I wrote in my latest Aviation for Women “Authors Connect” column, I’m forever a work in progress—but I’m doing the work.
And I’m so proud of this work. Five years of Literary Aviatrix represents something much bigger than my effort alone. It’s a testament to your trust, your support, and your belief in the importance of women’s stories in aviation. Thank you for showing up, for cheering each other on, and for helping build a community rooted in curiosity, courage, and camaraderie. I’m inspired by you every single day.
If you haven’t heard, I’m writing a book—one informed by this community and one I wish existed when I was beginning my aviation career. I am crafting it to serve as the foundation for a 15-week undergraduate course on the history of women in aviation. My goal is for it to serve as a gateway to our canon of stories while offering busy readers a foundation they can take with them as they launch their careers. I’ve given myself 15 months to draft it—currently on glideslope working on Chapter 5 (World War II) with guidance from an esteemed advisory team: Captain Jenny Beatty, Dr. Eileen Bjorkman, Dr. Jacqueline Boyd, Dr. Kimberly Dougherty, Dr. Angie Griffin, and Dr. Katherine Sharp Landdeck. You can follow my progress on YouTube.
Hear the blurbs for all of the selections in my 5th Anniversary and Reading List announcement on YouTube, and order your books on the website. We’ll continue our last-Sunday-of-the-month discussions at 1pm Eastern next year using a standing link

It will always be posted in the Aviatrix Book Club Facebook Group, and if anything ever changes or the link becomes compromised, you’ll find updated info there. If you’d like to host an additional discussion at another day and time, email me the month before and I’ll share it with the community.
Check out the latest books and interviews!
In the months since my last newsletter, I’ve interviewed some incredible authors and many new titles have launched. You can browse the latest releases on the website and catch up with every interview there, on YouTube, or on the Literary Aviatrix Podcast.
